Another Untitled Alternative Ponyverse (Lyra)

    A lot of procrastinating have happened, (I know you're not interested in hearing why) but it was a good thing that I didn't immediately wrote down Lyra's story back then because I changed most of the details of it. And like I 'said' on the last Alternative Ponyverse journal, (   I still don't know what to title it.) I'm not good with narrating. But these simple ideas HAVE to come out somewhere. So I wont be surprised if I leave another set of confusion in this so feel free to ask or post a question. OKEY! ENOUGH BLABBING!....





    Not known to be secretive of her feelings, social, loves singing and playing, Lyra has a charisma that can pull any pony's heart strings.

      Although she also enjoys daydreaming about adventures and other fantasies, she isn't interested in a flamboyant / outgoing  future. She was one of those ponies who prefer and intend to have a simple peaceful living. The events of her childhood to maturity have been generally nothing out of the ordinary.

      The turning point in her life began when she (literally) crossed path with an earth pony who was running errands for Trixie Lullamoon.


      Upon knowing more about Trixie, she learns about an alternative way of harnessing magic without having to be a unicorn-- Wicca.

      Adopted from the fillies' tale about humans and how they make magic through sorcery, it was also known as "human magic". Spells are casted by rituals, patterns, or/and specific items. Somehow, anypony that posesses unicorn elements can't effectively perform any of the wicca spells.


      However human magic and studying involving it are heavily punishable by law. Which caused the slow developement of its effeciency.

      Eventually Trixie further revealed that wicca was prohibitted so Earth and other mostly unmagical races wouldn't harness magic as effectively as the unicorns and alicorns.

      Trixie, along few other unicorns, sympathized the earth ponies' situation, witnessing more and more unicorns taking advantage of their dominance.They dedicated their lives alongside earth ponies. Trixie had gone to the extent of giving up all of her magic in order to better study wicca herself. (Her biggest discovery is that wicca can nullify unicorn magic, but not the other way around.)

      Of course Lyra wouldn't just jump in that moment to help. A lot of days will pass as she contemplates and try to ignore it in order to keep that life of peace she had aimed. But some 'voice' from her heart kept poking at her, which will ecourage her to help.

      In answer to Lyra's offer of aid, Trixie instructed her to go to the nearest Wiccan shop found in Ponyville. Sweetie Drops escorts and led her to the rest of what to do.

      Under the facade of a clubhouse, the black market of wiccan items was managed by Vinyl Scratch. (Now, even I can see the way Vinyl is involved seems corny. But believe me, this wont be as bad as with Trixie. It's not just to get her involved or to get her in a dramatic role. It's important that she has this job and she had worked her flank out to make it sucessful. But that story will be revealed on another pony biography.)

      Ironically, unicorn magic can be used as an ingredient to many wicca spells. And Lyra can share her magic. However, if extracted mistakenly, this may cause physical or/and mental damage/s to the contributor. Still Lyra was willing,  even enthusiastic, the voice in her  heart approving.


    It came to be when the voice doesn't seem to be satisfied. And Lyra realized she want to help more.

    She ideals to be like Trixie, who now lived as a earth pony to master wicca magic.

        Over a year, Lyra was able to cast and master a few spells, which is actually a fast progress.   She gained admiration by her new found talent but eventually the awe turned into doubt when she started claiming that unnatural entities-- humans, have been communicating her. According to Lyra, they told her she was a very special pony amd so they chose her to be taught with their own magic themselves. Which is suppose to explain her advanced skills.

      Everypony was convinced that her sanity was affected when she gave up her unicorn magic, worse when she began doing strange to mortifying activities: She would climb on trees and houses, walk all over town during a whole day of rain, lascerate or burn herself, drink her own urine.
        Bonbon thought that if she retrieves her magic, she would return to normal. On the contrary when she did, matters had gone worse. As Bonbon confronts her, Lyra confesses that the humans were angry for her getting her magic back. She (Lyra) was glad they granted her mercy. But she continues to admit she wanted them to go away ever since they started urging her to do those insane actions (they say those were needed to be done for Lyra to gain stronger magic). But to her distress, they refuse to leave 'the one they chose' and there's nothing to be done except to keep following them.


       Confused on what to do and think of her best friend, Bonbon stayed on her side. However this often ended up 'helping' Lyra with her self-abuses.

      Lyra Heartstring's behavior was bizzare, only a crazy pony can do those. But Bonbon sometimes ponder if the entities Lyra kept talking about were true. If they were, why do they have to be so malignant? Why to Lyra alone? She's not sure. But she can't deny she does feel something unseen lurking around Lyra all the time...

      Lyra Heartstrings could be telling the truth...
